Partnerships & Affiliate Memberships

Owner/Partners: There are currently 8 owner/investment partners in CUPS: Affinity Group CU, Birmingham Bloomfield CU, Clawson Community CU, Community Driven CU, Kensington Valley Community CU, ROME CU, Telcom CU and Unity CU. Owners within the CUSO’s structure can be a credit union, or another CUSO based upon specific criteria and CUPS board approval. CUPS already enjoys collaborative efforts with other CUSOs: CUSO Financial, Affinity Group Services, and CenCorp Business Services.

Affiliate Membership:

Since collaboration is the core foundation of CUPS, an affiliate level was developed to allow credit unions that were not ready to, or unable to commit at the investor level to participate. Other than the potential of revenue for the credit union, and a vote at the table, an affiliate credit union enjoys all the same benefits as the owners.

An annual fee structure for affiliates was developed at $500 for credit unions with less than $35 million in assets, and $900 for those with $35 million or more. As of 2009, 4 credit unions have joined as affiliates: Chiropractic FCU, Belle River Community CU, Amalgamated Credit Union, and Michigan Services C U.
