CUPS has negotiated group discounts and more efficient processing time based on group criteria. CPA Services – Cindrich & Mahalak: As a group, CUPS has secured a 15% reduction in the cost for preparation and submission of form 990 for each state chartered credit union. Systems Insurance of America: CUPS is in the process of securing reduced maintenance costs by having each credit union place equipment under insurance coverage. Business Lending: CUPS has established a partnership with CBS to implement business lending services in each credit union. Lower initial startup, training and setup costs were negotiated for each CUSO partner. Business lending and loan participation policies have been developed jointly to ensure consistency in lending and processing protocols. Business Services Package: Development is underway to provide a business package to members including corporate VISA and checking, item processing, and merchant credit authorization. Retail In-Direct Lending: CUPS is currently testing the launch of a retail direct lending program, through which members with small businesses can provide financing for lifestyle needs. This would include doctors, dentists, chiropractors, contractors, and more. Health Care For Members: Research is currently underway regarding the feasibility of offering health care products that each credit union can make available to their members who are un-insured or under-insured. This would not only be a great accomplishment for the credit unions individually, it could uncover the plans for CUPS in the future. Costs will be shared between participating credit unions. Internal Surveys and Competency Based On-Line Reviews: Discover business tools that help assess performance and provide feedback for tackling improvements and recognizing strengths. Negotiate pricing as a group.
